Every guy wants a great chest. It is the building block to a fine tuned, sexy upper body. Fortunately, starting to build this section of the body is very easy, and can be accomplished with two major workout variations.
Push Ups (And Variations)
Push ups are the staple of each and every chest workout, and for good reason. Without needing anything other than your own body weight you can get a great workout for all of the major muscles groups in the upper body. Here are a few push up variations you can use to start building up your chest:
Classic Push Up: Place your hands a little wider than shoulder length apart. Keep your back straight as you lower your body, and push it back up. Repeat this over and over and over again). It seems monotonous, but that is how you build up your chest, plain and simple!
Diamond Push Up: By closing in your grip you're allowing your inner chest muscles (notoriously hard to build) to take on their fair share of the weight.
Alternating Push Up: To perform this push up you're going to need a book, or a few free weights to give yourself some altitude. Alternate push ups with one hand on the ground and the other on this item. This confuses the muscles and allows each side to get a little more stressed out.
Bench Press (And Variations)
If you prefer weightlifting, then the bench press is your new best friend. The variations on this are very simple, you'll simply be varying your grip. The closer together that your hands are, the further into the muscle group you are working out.
If you want to build your chest you're going to have to put in the work. So stop thinking about it, as if there is anything to think about. Just get to work, and enjoy the results.
